‘Tis The Season

‘Tis The Season

The holiday season is here, but is it really the most wonderful time of the year? Even in the best of times, it can be tough to juggle work and life as the year comes to a close. With year-end deadlines looming and holiday plans on the horizon, it's easy to get overwhelmed. But fret not! Practicing self-care can help you take a breather and prep for what's to come. So, take a deep breath, put your feet up, and let self-care work its magic in reducing your stress levels!

Claim your throne, baby!
Whether online or in real life, you're the one in control of your space. If you're feeling like the vibe is off, it's time to ditch the downers. Say "see ya later" to social media and hit that "uninstall" button, it's a piece of cake! And if someone is killing your vibe, it's time to cut the cord and click "unfriend". Remember, boundaries are your bestie, they're there to keep you feeling happy, healthy and safe.

Take A Va-Bae-Stay-Cation
Escape the hustle and bustle and give yourself the ultimate gift: a retreat! It's like hitting the reset button on your mind, body, and soul. Set out on a quest to explore your thoughts. You could try meditating, jotting down your musings, or even taking up a new hobby. Want to spice things up? Take a break from the daily grind and soak up some nature. Go on a mini hike or trek to a nearby park to recharge your batteries. And when you need some "me" time, don't be shy! Let your family know you need a moment to yourself, and take a trip to another world with a good book or podcast.

Get yourself in tip-top shape!
Get ready to turbocharge your health! First up, book your annual checkup with the doc. No need to leave the house - lots of providers now offer telehealth visits. It's your chance to get some expert advice and feel good about kicking off a healthy new year. Next, give your diet a little love. Chow down on healthy foods most of the time, then sprinkle in some holiday indulgences. And let's be real - we all need a treat sometimes. Thirdly, if you're feeling sluggish, add some oomph to your day with 20-30 minutes of heart-pumping exercise. Trust me, your metabolism and mind will thank you!

Pause that news scroll!
Did you know that 95% of Americans can't resist the lure of news, but over half of them say it makes them more anxious? And it's not just politics that's the culprit! With COVID-19, crime rates, business blunders, and Hollywood drama - it's enough to make anyone hyperventilate! But, wait! Before you throw in the towel, there's a trick to balancing things out. Take a breather, step away from the screen, and dive into some positive news stories.

Time To Purge!
Are your emails multiplying like rabbits? This month, let's focus on what's really important. Start by giving the boot to emails that don't fit with your goals. No time to waste, hit delete! Now, for the ones that made the cut, let's set some boundaries. Do you really need to keep receiving all the mail from every store or restaurant you ever patronized…. especially if you aren’t utilizing their deals or services? I got one word for you… UNSUBSCRIBE! You’ll thank me later.

This is amazing! Although it wasn’t my plan to bake for Christmas, my budget suggested otherwise! I found that as I fulfilled cake orders, my boundaries were definitely being tested. I asked those individuals to please not add to the stress that I was already experiencing and respectfully they backed off. Beyond the bake sale, I am practicing self care this holiday season by not cooking and just lounging and binge watching Netflix. I’m looking forward to recharging and relaxing as I anticipate a very prosperous New Year!
