DAY 10 - Your speed doesn’t matter, forward is forward.
Share
Let's talk about progress. You know, that thing we're all chasing but sometimes feel like we're never quite catching? Yeah, that. Here’s the thing: your speed doesn’t matter. Forward is forward.
Think about it. Have you ever watched a turtle? They move so slow you might wonder if they're moving at all. But guess what? They get to where they're going. So, why do we beat ourselves up if we’re not racing ahead at lightning speed?
First off, let’s get one thing straight: I am doing my best, and that is enough. Say it with me: I am doing my best, and that is enough. We live in a world where we're constantly bombarded with everyone else's highlight reels. Social media, right? It’s easy to feel like we’re lagging behind. But here’s a secret: everyone's journey is different.
Philippians 4:13 says, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Remember, it's His strength that carries us forward, not our own. Even when we feel slow or stuck, His power is at work within us. I rely on Christ’s strength to move forward. Say it: I rely on Christ’s strength to move forward.
Imagine running a marathon. You wouldn't look at the person next to you and think, "Wow, they're so much faster, I might as well stop." No! You focus on your own pace. I am running my own race, at my own pace. Repeat that: I am running my own race, at my own pace.
It’s like climbing a mountain. Some people sprint up the trail, while others take their time, pausing to enjoy the view. Both reach the summit. The journey is unique for everyone, and it’s the same with life. I embrace my unique path and pace. Say it: I embrace my unique path and pace.
We all have days when we feel like we're wading through molasses. Maybe you didn’t finish that project, or you hit snooze one too many times. It’s okay. Every small step counts. Even if you’re crawling, you’re moving forward. I am proud of every step I take. Say it again: I am proud of every step I take.
And you know what? Sometimes progress is just surviving the day. I give myself permission to move at my own speed. Let's say it together: I give myself permission to move at my own speed. Some days, just getting out of bed is a victory. Celebrate that!
Think about those times when you felt stuck, like you were in quicksand. It felt like you weren’t moving, right? But here’s the thing: you kept going. Even if it was just a millimeter at a time, you moved forward. I trust the process and my journey. Say it loud: I trust the process and my journey.
Isaiah 40:31 says, "But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." Trusting in God gives us the strength to keep moving forward, even when it's tough. My hope in the Lord renews my strength. Say it: My hope in the Lord renews my strength.
Life is full of ups and downs, and progress isn’t always linear. You might take two steps forward and one step back. That’s normal. I am patient with my progress. Let’s say it together: I am patient with my progress.
We’re all about the hustle, but sometimes, the best thing you can do is take a break. Rest is productive. I honor my need for rest and recovery. Repeat it: I honor my need for rest and recovery.
Psalm 23:3 says, "He restores my soul. He guides me along the right paths for His name’s sake." Allow yourself the space to rest and be restored. Trust that God is guiding you on the right path. God restores my soul and guides me. Say it with me: God restores my soul and guides me.
Imagine planting a seed. You water it, give it sunlight, and then wait. You don’t dig it up every day to check if it’s growing. You trust the process. Your growth works the same way. I nurture my growth with patience and care. Say it: I nurture my growth with patience and care.
So here’s the messy truth: life isn't a straight line. It's a squiggly, looping, unpredictable path. And that’s okay. As long as you’re moving forward, even a little bit, you’re making progress. Forward is forward, no matter the pace. Say it with me: Forward is forward, no matter the pace.
Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight." Trust in God's plan for you and keep moving forward with faith. I trust in the Lord to guide my steps. Say it: I trust in the Lord to guide my steps.
Celebrate your small victories, every inch of progress, every step you take. You’re on your way, and that’s what counts. Keep going. You’ve got this.
