Healing Is Ghetto AF Some Days — And That’s Okay
Share
🌱 The Real Talk You Didn’t Know You Needed
Let’s go ahead and say what a lot of people are afraid to admit:
Healing is ghetto AF some days.
It’s messy. It’s unpredictable. It’s exhausting.
And no matter how many journaling prompts, sage bundles, or positive affirmations you have on hand—there are still days when it feels like your healing journey is dragging you through the mud.
But here’s what I want you to know:
Even when it’s ugly... even when you’re tired... even when it feels like you’re back at square one...
It’s still sacred.
🧠 Healing Doesn’t Always Look Like Growth — But It Is
We live in a world that glorifies glow-ups and glamorizes transformation. But they don’t tell you about the nights you cry yourself to sleep.
The friendships that fade because you’re no longer the people-pleaser.
The moments where your anxiety screams louder than your affirmations.
That’s the part we don’t post. That’s the part we don’t quote.
But that’s the part that matters most.
"Some days healing feels like freedom. Other days, it feels like falling apart. Both are necessary."
You’re not failing because you’re emotional.
You’re not broken because you had to take a mental health day.
You’re becoming. You’re shedding. You’re softening into your truth.
💔 Letting the Mess Be Sacred
The tears. The triggers. The tension.
They all have something to teach us.
Sometimes healing is sitting in your car, sobbing after setting a boundary you wish you didn’t have to.
Sometimes it’s the silence that follows when you finally tell someone “no.”
Sometimes it’s pulling away from dysfunction—even when it’s dressed up like love.
“You’re not being dramatic. You’re just finally being honest.”
You don’t have to wait until you’re ‘better’ to be worthy.
You are sacred in process. You are worthy in the wilderness.
There’s no medal for pretending you’re okay when you’re not.
But there is freedom in honoring your full emotional truth.
🌀 The Spiral Is Not a Setback — It’s a Sacred Revisit
Healing isn’t linear. It’s a spiral staircase.
You may feel like you’re back in the same place, but you're coming with new insight. New awareness. New tools.
You’ll grieve the old you.
You’ll grieve the people who were tied to your pain.
But with every wave of sadness, you are softening.
With every wave of anger, you are releasing.
You don’t owe anyone perfection.
You only owe yourself presence.
🔑 Affirmations for the Ghetto Days of Healing
Let’s breathe together and speak these over ourselves:
I honor my growth, even when it’s not graceful.
I am allowed to be both a masterpiece and a work in progress.
I release the pressure to heal perfectly.
I trust the process, even when it feels ghetto.
My mess is not a sign of failure—it’s a sign of transformation.
I am worthy of grace on my worst days.
I choose to keep going, even when it’s hard.
My healing does not need to be perfect. It needs to be present.
Take a deep breath in… and out. You’re doing better than you think.
🎧 Tune in, Tap in, and Take a Breath
If this message touched you, take a moment to pause—breathe in deeply, and remember:
You’re not alone. You’re not crazy. You’re not weak.
You’re healing.
And yes, it may be ghetto AF some days, but it’s still worthy of reverence.
Your softness is strength. Your tears are prayers. Your voice is powerful.
This journey isn’t for the faint of heart—but neither are you. 💚
