🧼 Healed Girl Math: If It Costs Me My Peace, It's Too Expansive | What To Do When The Math Ain’t Mathing

You ever look back on a season of your life and think, “Why did I keep trying to make that add up?”

Yeah
 me too.

I used to live by what I now call unhealed math — trying to balance equations that never made sense, pouring double, compromising triple, and still coming up short on peace.

The Old Math

Unhealed me thought love meant overextending.  I believed if I just gave a little more, if I just proved a little harder, if I just waited a little longer— then maybe they’d finally see my worth.

But that math never balanced.  Because I was adding effort to places that only multiplied pain.  I was dividing my energy to keep other people whole.  I was subtracting my joy just to stay in rooms that couldn’t hold me.

That’s not strength. That’s survival math.  And survival math will always leave your peace in debt.

The Healed Equation

Now that I’ve done the work, I count differently.

Healed girl math says:

  • Peace > Performance

  • Self-Respect + Boundaries = Balance

  • Love + Reciprocity = Safety

  • Silence + Self-Awareness = Power

It’s the new emotional math — where peace is the profit and performance is no longer the price.

Because here’s the truth:
You don’t have to prove your worth to keep people in your life.
You just have to honor it enough to stop negotiating it.

The Cost of Peace

Peace will cost you.
Sometimes it’ll cost you the friendships that only called when they needed something.
Sometimes it’ll cost you the job that looked good on paper but drained your soul.
Sometimes it’ll cost you family who don’t understand your healing.

But hear me when I say this — peace will never ask for more than it gives back.

Every “no” that honors your capacity.
Every “not this time” that protects your energy.
Every “I can’t keep doing this” that frees your spirit.
Those are investments.
And peace pays interest.

Boundaries Are Budgeting

Boundaries are not punishment — they’re budgeting.  They’re how you make sure your energy doesn’t overdraft.

You can’t spend every part of yourself trying to keep other people comfortable.
You can’t keep loaning your peace to people who can’t pay it back.
You can’t afford to fund dysfunction and still expect peace to profit.

Healed math says:
“I’m not cold, I’m conserving.”
“I’m not distant, I’m delivered.”
“My peace is not negotiable.”

The Fine Print

Nobody talks about the hidden emotional fees we’ve been paying in silence.  The guilt tax.
The overthinking interest.  The “I’ll fix it” service charge.

But healed girls read the fine print now.  We don’t renew subscriptions to struggle.
We don’t pay late fees on closure.  We don’t sign contracts that cost us our peace.

The Receipt

When I finally printed my receipt, I saw it clear:
I had been giving discounts on my energy and calling it love.
And when I looked in the mirror and realized I didn’t recognize myself —
that’s when I knew it was time to close the account.

I stopped overexplaining.  I stopped apologizing for my boundaries.  I stopped financing other people’s healing at the expense of my own.  And I haven’t looked back since.

Remember, if it costs you your peace, IT'S TOO DAMN EXPENSIVE!!!

  • Silence + Stillness = Clarity

  • Forgiveness + Faith = Freedom

  • Boundaries + Grace = Balance

  • Letting Go + Self-Trust = Peace

Whatever it looks like for you, write it down.  Say it out loud.  Live it out daily.

  2. What relationships, habits, or thoughts no longer balance?

  3. What new equations am I ready to live by?

  4. How can I start budgeting my energy more intentionally this week?
